Do not go gentle into that good night,
순순히 어두운 밤을 받아들이지 말라

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
노년은 날이 저물어감에 열 내고 몸부림쳐야 한다

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
빛이 꺼져감에 분노하고 또 분노하라

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
지혜로운 자들은 마지막에 이르러서야 어둠이 지당함을 알지만

Because their words had forked no lightning they
그들의 이야기는 더 이상 번개처럼 번쩍이지 않기에

Do not go gentle into that good night.
순순히 어두운 밤을 받아들이지 말라

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
선한 자들은 마지막 파도가 지난 후

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
그 덧없는 행적들이 푸른 바닷가에서 얼마나 빛나게 춤추었을지 한탄하며
